Like many great things, Christopher Robin Lemcke was made in Los Angeles in 1987. A second-generation pianist, his influences include Jazz, Classical, and Rock. Chris is a multi-instrumentalist bringing his skills to piano, vocals, and percussion. You'll usually see him rocking a Nord Electro 2 to bring out those sweet vintage tones. Chris also leads an experimental cover trio Christopher Robin Live (christopherrobinlive.com). Little Big Funk's bandleader, Chris Schendel, joins in on drums in that band, as well! An LA native, Chris enjoys short walks with his dog, living quietly in the hills with his partner, and catching up on the latest video games.
Born on the Aleutian Islands, Lisa has lived in Taiwan, Philippines, London, Chicago, and now resides in Los Angeles. She received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Chicago’s Roosevelt University and spent the next several years in the Chicago theatre scene. After moving to Los Angeles, she seized the opportunity to return to music and has refocused on the simplicity of acoustic sets and studio recordings, which has opened up the world of TV sync placements. Her rendition of Bring it on Home to Me was featured on 90210 (collaboration with Keaton Simons) and her soulful take on Nothing Can Change this Love was featured on TV’s Arrow. She is thrilled to be working in music again.
Meet our resident LA music scene trumpeter/musician of chaos, jazz, and funk. His musical journey began when he tickled the ivories at his first paying gig when he was no taller than a saxophone. From there, it was a wild ride – like a teenager screaming on a rollercoaster. He played trumpet in a variety of classical and jazz ensembles in LA, and wrote and played horn arrangements that made the ladies dance and swoon in the local swing and funk music scene. As a rebellious teenager, he picked up the bass guitar and joined local punk, rock, and funk bands, often brandishing his shiny brass beacon of mischief for unexpected horn solos. His most memorial moment was playing trumpet in a funk band at The Mint nightclub on one fateful night - when without forewarning - the entire Tower of Power horn section materializes at the bar like the Avengers with axes in hand, only to give their nod of approval under the glare of the stage light.
Originally from the East Coast, Dan moved to LA in 2005 where he's built a music career while working a day job. He plays multiple woodwinds and has played in jazz combos, big bands, cover bands, pit orchestras, and on recording sessions. He's played with bands at The Lighthouse Cafe, the Whiskey-a-Go-Go, and Levitt Pavilion. When he's not playing music he's doing student services and finance work for the Colburn School.
Sumit started his musical journey as a classical violinist in 3rd grade. In high school he played electric violin and guitar in various bands, incorporating styles ranging from blues and funk to jazz fusion and atonal improvisation. He attended Berkelee College of Music to study jazz violin performance, and while there fell in love with the low frequency pulse of the bass. The bass soon became his primary instrument. He continues to seek out playing opportunies in many different styles, always trying to delve deeper into the mysteries of groove, feel, and locking in with the drummer.
Like Sumit, Chris started playing music in the 3rd grade... but on trumpet, in the school orchestra... not drums. Then he saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and dropped that nonsense, pronto. He flirted with fame in 80s Los Angeles as a member of Vivabeat and power-pop prodigies Toni & the Movers, and has performed and recorded with many other LA acts, including Promises, the MnMs, Jerry Sikorski, Tropic of Pico, and a buttload of nameless, faceless bar bands. He'll play anything, anywhere, anytime except "New Country" and Lynard Skynard's Gimme Three Steps. Chris is the unabashed leader of LBF, and is whatcha call a "jack of all trades." He also handles all the design work for the band, including this beautiful website.
Kelly is one of Little Big Funk's newer members. But even though he’s new to this outfit, a number of people may recognize Kelly from his decades in film and television. Appearing in everything from ‘Seinfeld’, ‘One On One’, ‘Knight Squad', ‘Between Brothers’, and the list goes on. Music lovers will also know ‘KP’ as the founder and front man of the band ‘Birthday Suit’ which rocked all over Los Angeles for years in the early 2000s. Growing up in Pennsylvania and doing tons of musical theater prepared him for his work on the small and big screen, and now it’s Little Big Funk’s turn to try and contain this fireball. He’s ready to step right in for LBF’s latest run. So if you want high energy and great music, dust off your dancing shoes and come out and see Kelly sprinkle his secret sauce onto a band that he’s looking forward to performing with.

Neal's been funkin' it up on baritone and alto saxes from the 70s to now. Holding down the horn section on the baritone and taking solo flight on alto sax, Neal credits one man for creating the funk band form, with multiple singers switching between silky soul and raw funk, while muscular horns punctuate the irresistible groove laid down by the rhythm section, plus all the flashy show that goes with it - one Mr. James Brown. A little crazy, sure. But a crazy genius. We honor him, the patron saint of funk. The creator.
Pedro Aquino, 29 yo, Brazilian guitar player, floating between funky styles and blues, influenced by many players like Hendrix, Frusciante, Jeff Beck, etc. He has been doing music professionally since age 18 yo. He has played in original bands and also an RHCP cover band and an Elton John tribute.
